Frequently Asked Questions or FAQs You Might Want to Know

Why are some other Companies' hourly rates significantly less?
A difference in rates often happens when a company utilizes Outside Contractors rather than having “real” employees. By utilizing contract workers, the company is not responsible for many things that an employer is, such as taxes, workers compensation insurance, and liability insurance (which can end up causing the client nightmares if an injury happens on the job and/or taxes are not filed). Companies with actual employees take on these responsibilities which then becomes part of their overhead.
Also one must watch that they are dealing with a responsible company in other ways. Many companies will try to cut corners by not carrying proper insurance and by not acquiring bonding on their employees.

Do you have to sign a contract?
No. We have a Service Agreement that must be signed but it does not bind you to any set amount of services and you can cancel services at anytime with no obligations

What is companion care?
Companion care is non-medical care that can happen before, during, or after Home Health Care. We come into your home and assist with medication reminders, provide meal preparation, and clean up, as well as monitor bathing and dressing safety. We also provide light housekeeping, change linens, take care of laundry, and supervise home maintenance. Additionally, we can complete many errands for you, such as grocery shopping and prescription pick up or assist you with these and many other daily activities by driving you in your vehicle wherever you want to go.

Will you work a short term assignment?
Yes. Many of our clients only need our services for a short period of time.
A good example is following major surgery, when it is not possible or advisable for you to return to your normal routine for several months.
Other clients only require assistance a few hours a week. An example of this would be someone who wants to remain independent but no longer has the energy and desire to drive his car to run weekly errands. Another example would be our Respite Care, where we give the family cargiver a break each week by taking over for her for a day, or perhaps a couple of days each month. You will find our services are very flexible and designed to meet our client's needs.
We also have a Recuperation Program, designed specifically for people undergonig Outpatient procedures. It is our “Welcome Home” Recuperation Program, and it gives you 6 hours of care at a flat rate. This particular program is available to anyone who is at least 21 years of age, and can reduce the stress of an Outpatient procedure and make it easier on everyone!

Can you sit with someone during their hospital stay?
Absolutely. We offer respite care to family caregivers as you just cannot always be there for your loved one. That’s where we come in.
You may also wish to check our our "Welcome Home" Recuperation Program, which is designed specifically for Outpatient procedures.

Can you work in a nursing home, assisted living, or independent apartment or home?
Yes. Many times we go into Assisted Living facilities to get a loved one acclimated to her new surroundings. Our assistance can also keep someone from having to step down to a nursing home setting. We have also worked in nursing homes to be that extra pair of eyes and ears while families are at work or on vacation. Our goal is to help your loved one stay in her "home",as long as it is viable and safe for her to do so, whether that "home" is a house, an apartment,an assisted living establishment or a nursing home. You can count on us to provide the best of care.
