Why Our Caregivers are the "Cream of the Crop"
Our caregivers are totally committed, highly qualified and carefully selected individuals who are personally and thoroughly screened, bonded and insured. Most importantly, our caregivers are dependable and extraordinarily caring of others.
In addition to their previous experience, our caregivers receive continuous training that includes a specialized curriculum exclusive to Home Sweet Home Care.

Meet Our Caregivers
The last name of our caregivers is omitted in respect for their privacy, while still allowing you (as a visitor to our website) an opportunity to learn more about some of our employees (the less shy ones), and why they have chosen the honorable professsion of Caregiver. We are proud to employ each one of them and know they provide our clients with the highest standards of care.

My name is LaNette and I have worked for Home Sweet Home Care Inc. since they opened in 2004. I started working as an aide 33 years ago and have always enjoyed what I do. I especially enjoy the stories my clients have and like knowing I make a difference in their quality of life whether thru shopping, cleaning or just being a companion for them. I am a 10 year Navy Veteran and my husband just recently retired with 30 years in the Navy and I have a son who is a Marine. My proudest moment was watching him graduate from Boot Camp. In my spare time I like to read and take care of my own household.

“I started working for Home Sweet Home Care in June of 2007. My mom worked with a company as a caregiver in my home state of Nebraska so this is what originally interested me in this type of business. I have always had a close relationship with my grandfather and even though I do not live in the same state as he does, I’ve felt the importance of keeping in touch and encouraging him through the years. I enjoy building a relationship with my clients, hearing about their life and learning as much as I can from them. I feel it is very important that the elderly are able to stay in their own home as long as possible. It gives me great joy if I can be a part of helping them accomplish this. It is also important that primary caregivers get respite care. I currently help clients with such daily activities as taking care of pets, yard work, sorting through mail, laundry, cleaning up around the house, preparing meals, running errands, having lunch together and sometimes just visiting. My favorite vacation spot is Tuscany, Italy, which my husband and I were able to visit when we lived in Europe for 3 years prior to moving here. My favorite food is Italian. When I do have free time, I enjoy reading and gardening. Most people might not know that I also enjoy working with young children (3-4 yr olds). I teach a 4 yr old Sunday School class and attend Bible Study at Church. My proudest moments include the birth of my 2 daughters, and I recently celebrated my 25th wedding anniversary. Since working with Home Sweet Home Care, I have attained my Certified Companion Aide designation. I am CPR certified and attend any continuing education classes available to further my knowledge.”

I started working for HSHC in February of 2009. I really like working with HSHC and getting to know the office staff as well as many of the other caregivers I have met. It is more like having an extended family than a work atmosphere. We all work together to make sure that our clients get the best care from all of us as well as keeping up with all information from each client.
I enjoy being a caregiver because I feel that it helps the client keep to their goal of staying in their home as long as they can and stay with all the things that they are familiar with and love. As clients get older and their memory begins to go, they seem to be more content in their own environment and to keep them there as long as possible is the main goal.
My favorite place to vacation is the Cherokee/Gatlinburg area. There are many fun things to do there. I also love to ski and try to go several times a winter. My family is scattered up and down the east coast, so I visit with them when I can.
There have been many moments in my life that I have had a feeling of accomplishment. My proudest moment was actually spread out over many years and that was having and raising my 2 children who are now in their 20's. Running a postal store for over 3 years gave me a feeling of making a difference in my little world. I made many new friends and hopefully was a help to the people in the Eagle Harbor neighborhood.

I have been working with Home Sweet Home Care since May 2009. I decided to become a caregiver while working in a doctor’s office. I always interested in how the elderly patients were doing and felt real empathy toward them. It didn’t take them long to learn that I wanted to hear about their day. Needless to say I have always liked helping people, and being around those who need assistance and someone to talk to. I love making people smile and seeing the difference I make in their lives and their families lives. My clients and I enjoy just talking to each other. We also like to watch TV and cook together.
Most people probably don’t know that I love to crochet and watch sports. My proudest moment would have to be having my kids. Also, one of my clients told me I had literally saved their life by helping them, and that made me feel really good about my choice to work with the elderly. I can think of nothing more rewarding.

I have been a caregiver for Home Sweet Home Care Inc. for a year. I used to spend a lot of time with my grandmother and would take her grocery shopping and just drive her around. She loved to visit places that she grew up in or an old school she went to. She would call me an old soul. I really enjoy taking care of our clients and they are some of the nicest people you will meet. Most of the clients I have I take to doctor’s appointment and grocery shopping and I also cook meals for them and I do some light housekeeping.
My favorite hobby would have to be scrapbooking because when you journal you can tell your story and it’s so personal. My proudest moments would have to be when my two kids were born. I enjoy spending time with my husband and kids.

I got involved with caregiving because I wanted to give back to the older persons of the community some of the values I learned from seniors in my youth. I love to cook and the inspiration came from Fluellen Jones who taught me that "Love comes in a 5 pound bag". I would have to say that as a caregiver I enjoy seeing how diverse people are and that "young love" is ageless. I also enjoy listening to clients talk about their families and the history of how they got to where they are today. Every opportunity to serve is unique. I have been with Home Sweet Home Care Inc. since July 2009 and I love working for this company.
In my spare time I enjoy gardening, crocheting, cooking and I love to bake and make candy. I would have to say my proudest moment was when my oldest son told me he had become a Mason. My younger son soon followed him shortly after and by June they both became Shriners. My Dad would be so very proud of them. Most people would probably never be able to guess that I grew up on a farm, can still drive a tractor, and shoot a gun. I know how to grow and preserve my own food, sew, and I make a great coconut pie.
