TRIAD and SALT Council in Isle of Wight Virginia

Home Sweet Home Care Encourages Senior Participation in SALT and Awareness of TRIAD resources.

TRIAD is a cooperative effort of law enforcement agencies (police/fire/sheriffs), senior citizens, and senior organizations, focused on reducing crimes against seniors.  TRIAD is not an acronym. It merely represents a group of three, or the three sectors of a community that partner to keep seniors safe from crime: public safety, criminal justice, and the senior community.

TRIAD has two objectives, to reduce crime against seniors, and to reduce the unwarranted fear of crime that the elderly often experience.Triad is actually the concept of partnering for the safety of seniors. Once a Triad is formed, a SALT Council is created, which is a group of representatives who implement programs and activities to achieve the objectives. These representatives-similar to a PTA-who comes together to design and implement programs and activities intended to make seniors in the community safer. SALT stands for Seniors and Law Enforcement Together.

Home Sweet Home Care Inc. is an active member of Triad and on the Isle of Wight County's SALT Council and you may contact Shirley McGee for more information about the local SALT Council.
