Our Welcome Home! Service 

Sometimes all you need is short-term care, and that is why we developed our Welcome Home! service, which is elder care especially for recuperating seniors and the chronically ill. Our Welcome Home! senior care assists the elderly when they have to go to doctor’s appointments or treatments, and allows them to experience a worry-free hospital release or outpatient procedure. It can even help seniors and the chronically ill attend more events and family gatherings with ease. Some of the ways you can use this service are below, but as always with Home Sweet Home Care Inc., we customize your service to your specific needs.

Doctor’s Appointment, Chemotherapy or Other Treatment

We will drive you to your appointment and wait for you while you see the doctor. After the appointment, we will drive you to the pharmacy, pick up any prescriptions you need, and then drive you home. There we will make sure you are comfortable and tend to light housekeeping, prepare a meal or light snack for you, and let your pet in or out (if you have one). We can also run errands, such as post office, groceries, or make phone calls.

Hospital Discharge

We will drive you home from the hospital, get you settled, and assist you with necessary phone calls to loved ones, friends, etc. to let them know you are back home. If supplies need to be obtained (groceries, prescriptions, etc.), then we will get them for you. We will also provide observation, medication reminders, and companionship to make certain that all is well in accordance with your discharge instructions. We can prepare a meal or snack, if you wish, and take care of any light housekeeping.  If you have had your pet kenneled, we will retrieve it for you, as well as let it outside or play with it to burn off any excess energy it may have, and feed and water your pet for you. All you have to do is relax and recuperate; knowing that what needs to be done is being taken care of by one of our highly qualified caregivers.

Outpatient Surgery

We will drive you to your appointment and wait for you. After the procedure, we will drive you to the pharmacy, pick up any prescriptions you need, and then drive you home. There we will make sure you are comfortable, as well as provide companionship and observation. We will ensure that all is well in accordance with your discharge instructions, make any calls to loved ones or friends that you would like us to make, and allow you to focus on recuperation. While there, we can tend to light housekeeping, and prepare a meal or light snack for you. If you have a pet, we can let your pet out or in and ensure that your pet’s food and water dishes are full. Additionally, we can run any errands that you may need taken care of, such as going to the post office, getting groceries, or making phone calls. All you have to do is get better knowing that all that needs to be taken care of is in the capable hands of one of our highly qualified caregivers.

Attend a Family Gathering or other Event

We can assist you with attending a family gathering or event with independence that you may not normally have available to you. We will meet you at your home and prepare or assist you with preparing a dish to pass and clean up the kitchen, as well as wrap gifts or other tasks that may be associated with the event. We will drive you to the event location, and attend to your needs during the gathering, such as medication reminders and carrying parcels. Afterwards, we will drive you home, unpack the car, and put things away (gifts, leftovers, etc.), and get you settled back into the comfort of your own home.

When considering us as a provider of services, please note that Home Sweet Home Care Inc., is a high-quality companion care service. As such, an assessment appointment always precedes our services, at no cost to you, during which we evaluate your specific needs. This assessment ensures that we match you with the right caregiver who is best suited to tend to your unique needs. Please ensure that you request our services about a week in advance to ensure sufficient time for the assessment interview.

Concerning Transport and Errands

We can run errands for you without the use of your vehicle. However, any transport that includes you as a passenger must occur in your vehicle for insurance reasons. If you do not have a vehicle and are looking for transport services, then please call us and we will refer you to someone who does provide transport services.

Cost and Scope of the Welcome Home! Service

The Welcome Home! service is available for a flat rate of $160 and covers six or fewer hours of care. Although we have given you some examples of how to use this service, each Welcome Home! is tailored specifically to your needs.
