Join our SOS (Supply Operation for Seniors) Campaign and help local seniors in need. We recently announced our food drive for seniors. We are also taking donations for sample size personal items to help the elderly have hygiene products on hand. Things like deodorant, shampoo, hand soaps, toothpaste and other items. Additionally, we would like donations of sample size detergents and laundry soaps to help seniors maintain clean clothes and linens. There are many seniors in our area who struggle to keep food, hygiene and cleaning products on hand. You can help by donating as much and as often as you can to our SOS Campaign.
We know there are many seniors in need in the area through our work with the Western Tidewater Task Force on Aging, and have partnered with them to address these needs. Although we are a drop off point for your donations, the items you donate will be distributed by Task Force case workers who work directly with the seniors in need. It is entirely up to their discretion to whom these items are distributed because they are out in the field and have first-hand knowledge of who needs what. They have literally been in homes that have no food in the cupboard, must less shampoo in the bathroom. With your help we can make a difference.
If you are a local senior in need who lives in Isle of Wight, Suffolk, Portsmouth, and surrounding areas in Western Tidewater, Virginia, please let us know so we can put you in touch with the right people who can help you. Just call the office at 757-356-0342 and ask for Mary.
