Home Sweet Home Care Inc.’s corporate office is located in historic Smithfield, Virginia. Specifically we are in the Victorian row, also know as the Painted Ladies, which consists of five typical houses of the late Victorian time period (early 1900′s), each featuring bay fronts and gingerbread trim. The houses were built around 1901 by Burton W. Hearn, who, himself, lived at 346 Main Street, which is were our corporate offices are located. Home Sweet Home Care Inc. has maintained the historic features of the house inside and out (it’s a zoning requirement, but the CEO wouldn’t have it any other way, anyway). Shirley McGee, owner and CEO of Home Sweet Home Care Inc., thinks the historic home is a perfect office for in-home care, because she feels it keeps her and her staff reminded that “home” is at the heart of all that they do as an in-home, elder care company.
The lower part of the historic building serves as offices for staff and also houses the Resource Library. The Resource Library is open to the public during normal office hours which are Mon-Fri 9am-5pm. The upper part of the building is used for training employees. There is a handicap access ramp in the back of the building, and free parking available on the street.
